چکیده

Fused deposition modelling (FDM) is one of the most popular additive manufacturing (AM) technique which used to investigate elastic properties 3D printed polyamide-based polymer composites structures. The aim this work study mechanical continuous carbon fibre reinforced polyamide composite samples using tensile and flexural testing by varying volume contents with applying pressure, temperature holding for 60 minutes in platen press. results showed that strength stiffness increased increase content (fraction). Hot pressed exhibited about 27 % modulus 11 because increasing fraction from 29 35%. Synergetic effect both short was also studied, it observed were higher than only composites. Effects voids on fibre-reinforced quantified. A microstructure carried out scanning electron microscope (SEM). Following SEM analysis tested specimens, there a strong correlation between microstructure. Fibre measured acid digestion method determine amount before after hot pressing (compaction). From Micro- Computed Tomography (µCT) confirmed reduced void return modulus.

Image Characterization of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Composites

A new methodology to detect fibres orientation in composite materials, using image processing tools is introduced. Several examples with manufacturing defects are studied using RIMAPS technique and the Variogram method. The characterization is made from digitized images of the samples. Combined use of RIMAPS and Variogram analyses identified the orientation of fibres and determined the values o...

Natural Fibre Reinforced Biodegradable Polymer Composites

Currently, numerous research groups have explored the production and properties of biocomposites where the polymer matrices are derived from renewable resources such as poly lactide (PLA), thermoplastic starch (TPS), cellulose and polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs). This review is carried out to evaluate the development and properties of natural fibre reinforced biodegradable polymer composites. They...

Self-healing of damage in fibre-reinforced polymer-matrix composites.

Self-healing resin systems have been discussed for over a decade and four different technologies had been proposed. However, little work on their application as composite matrices has been published although this was one of the stated aims of the earliest work in the field. This paper reports on the optimization of a solid-state self-healing resin system and its subsequent use as a matrix for h...

Biodegradable Continuous Fibre Reinforced Composites Based on Hybrid Yarns

During the last four decades the biodegradable polymers have found their place in special applications in biomedical and technical fields. [1-4] However, their worldwide production volumes are still marginal compared with non-biodegradable polymers. One of the major restricting factors for the wider use of biodegradable polymers in the field of load bearing medical devices, packaging, and consu...

Characterization of Laccase-Treated Kenaf Fibre Reinforced Recycled Polypropylene Composites

Raw and laccase-treated kenaf fibre (KF) were used individually to reinforce recycled polypropylene (RPP) using extrusion and injection moulding. Laccase was used to modify the surface of the fibre to improve the compatibility between fibre and matrix. Enzyme concentration and soaking time were considered as the treatment parameters. Maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene (MAPP) was used with a...
